Referral Program Terms & Conditions

Gotta cover our asses a little bit.

1. Program Overview

* = The Casual Bookkeeper (“Company”) offers a referral incentive of $20 via Giftogram for each qualifying new client referred to the Company in accordance with these Terms & Conditions (“Program”).

Participation in the Program constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility

The Program is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of The Casual Bookkeeper are not eligible to participate. The Company reserves the right to determine eligibility at its sole discretion.

3. Definition of a Qualified Referral

A “Qualified Referral” is a new client who:

  • Has not previously been a paying client of The Casual Bookkeeper;
  • Is not already in active discussions, onboarding, or the Company’s internal pipeline at the time of referral;
  • Is referred through an identifiable referral method approved by the Company; and
  • Enters into a paid engagement with The Casual Bookkeeper.

4. Definition of a Client

For purposes of this Program, a “Client” is defined as a single paid engagement, agreement, or invoice, regardless of the number of individuals, dependents, or filings included within that engagement.

  • Individuals: One individual receiving services under a single paid engagement constitutes one (1) Client.
  • Families and Dependents: A family, including dependents, shall be considered one (1) Client when services are provided under a single agreement or invoice.
  • Schedule C / Business Filings: An individual receiving personal services that include Schedule C or other business-related filings as part of a single paid engagement shall be considered one (1) Client.
  • Separate Engagements: Multiple referral rewards may apply only where there are separate paid engagements or invoices, as determined by The Casual Bookkeeper.

5. Referral Reward

Participants will receive $20 USD per Qualified Referral.

Rewards are issued per paid engagement, not per individual, dependent, or filing. The structure of the engagement, as determined by The Casual Bookkeeper, is final.

6. Payment Timing & Method

Referral rewards are issued after the referred client has completed payment for their initial qualifying engagement. Payments will be issued within a reasonable timeframe using a method determined by The Casual Bookkeeper.

Participants are responsible for providing accurate payment information and for any applicable taxes associated with referral rewards.

7. Referral Attribution

If multiple parties refer the same client, the referral will be attributed to the first verifiable referral received by The Casual Bookkeeper. The Company’s internal records shall be final and binding for referral attribution and eligibility.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Participants may not:

  • Refer themselves;
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent referrals;
  • Misrepresent The Casual Bookkeeper’s services, pricing, or guarantees;
  • Use spam, unsolicited mass outreach, or deceptive practices; or
  • Structure or modify engagements primarily to increase referral rewards.

The Casual Bookkeeper reserves the right to disqualify referrals that violate these Terms.

9. Modification or Termination

The Casual Bookkeeper reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time, with or without notice. Any changes will apply prospectively and will not affect referral rewards already earned for Qualified Referrals.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Casual Bookkeeper is not responsible for lost, delayed, or improperly attributed referrals. Participation in the Program is voluntary and provided “as is.”

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Casual Bookkeeper operates.
